I am asking all of you to please keep Congressmen Bass and Guinta in your thoughts and prayers because they have apparently contracted the “Kerry Conundrum Disorder”.
You see, last August they thought it was a great idea to give President Obama the authority to increase the national debt from 14.5 to 16.9 trillion dollars, an increase in debt of $2,400,000,000,000,000 in only 16 months. (By the way, this increase of $2.4 trillion is more than the entire Federal government spent in 2005, but I digress.)
Now, just five short months later, both Charlie and Frank have voted against giving Obama the ability to borrow this same money. While this sounds great, what they don’t want you to know is that this most recent vote doesn’t mean anything. The only vote that mattered was their vote to increase the debt last August. There is NOTHING the Congress can do to stop this borrowing from happening.
So, how do we explain their vote? Are they both just your typical Washington politician or is it something----worse? Well, I for one am willing to cut Charlie and Frank some slack. Rather than think that our new Congressmen are just slick and sleazy politicians who are trying to pull a fast one over on their constituents, I think maybe they have become infected with the Kerry Conundrum Disorder.
They were both “for” the increase before they were “against” it.
If you agree that they have contracted this serious disorder and would like to send them a get well card you can reach them here:
