“Just So Ya Know….”
A couple of things hit me in the news this morning.
1. Rick Perry to Undergo Colonoscopy.
It appears that the news media’s colonoscopy of Governor Rick Perry of Texas is underway. The AP is reporting that Perry and his wife earned just over $2 million in wages. Gee, that’s a lot of money! We all know that earning money is not looked favorably upon by many in our society today.
By the way, the Governor and Mrs. Perry “earned” their money over the past 18 years meaning that, with both of them working, together they earned an annual average of $55,000 apiece. Wow, how corrupt can you get?
The story goes on to say that politicians, I think they really mean conservative politicians, often supplement their income with profitable deals. It quotes an expert on money in politics as saying, “That’s not to say that there is anything illegal or unethical about it, but its how the world works. ”
Let’s see, nothing illegal or unethical! So, this is a story why?
2. Watch Out for Big Corn!
On another note, did you see that “Big Corn” is at it again? Yep, big corn is trying to pull the wool over our eyes by working to change the name of high fructose corn syrup to just plain corn syrup. Thank goodness we have the US Food and Drug Administration to protect us.
Besides, it’s not like big corn is trying to get the government to give them taxpayer subsidies to use their “corn syrup” in lets say gasoline! Now that would be a story!
3. 500 Tea Party Members Riot, Take Hostages, Destroy Property
Did you see the report on BigJournalism.com about the 500 members of the Tea Party who stormed a government building in Longview California, overpowered security guards, held them hostage and then destroyed and damaged private property? No?
Want to know why you may not have heard about this? It’s because it was actually members of the Longshoremen’s Union and not the Tea Party that did this.
I’m sure that if it had been the Tea Party the news media would have ignored this story too.
